ERW steel pipe - ASTM A53 pipe (ASME SA53 pipe) is meant for mechanical and pressure applications and is additionally acceptable for standard uses in steam, water, gas and air lines. it's appropriate for fastening and for forming operations involving helical, bending, and flanging, subject to bound qualifications.

Scope


ASTM A53 pipe covers Seamless and Welded, Black and Hot-Dipped Galvanized nominal (average) wall pipe for helical, bending, flanging and different special functions and is appropriate for fastening. Continuous-Welded pipe isn't meant for flanging.


Materials and Manufacture


The steel for each seamless and welded pipe shall be created by one or a lot of of the subsequent processes: open-hearth, furnace, or basic-oxygen. The weld seam of ERW steel pipe in Grade B shall be heat treated when fastening.
