SSAW/SAW STEEL PIPES
What is SSAW Steel Pipe?
SSAW steel pipe is made up of hot-rolled coiled steel using a double-sided submerged arc welding method. The welding process allows steel pipe manufacturers to produce large-diameter steel pipes suitable for different applications.
What Are The Advantages of SSAW Pipes
SSAW steel pipe can be produced in longer lengths (maximum length up to 50 meters) compared to LSAW steel pipes. Due to its spiral seam, SSAW pipe has accurate diameter accuracy and strength. The sizes are adjustable & can be tailored to end-users' requirements
Usage: Used for low-pressure liquid delivery, such as water, gas, and oil.

A: SSAW stands for Spiral Submerged Arc Welded steel pipe. It is manufactured by continuously rolling steel coils at a specific helix angle and welding the seam using submerged arc welding. Unlike LSAW (Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded) pipes which have a straight seam, the spiral weld of an SSAW pipe distributes stress more evenly. This makes SSAW pipes highly cost-effective for large-diameter applications, offering excellent resistance to bending and external pressure.
A: We manufacture SSAW pipes in strict accordance with global standards, including API 5L, ASTM A53, ASTM A252, EN 10219, and GB/T 9711. We supply a comprehensive range of carbon steel grades, such as Q235, Q345, X42, X52, X60, X65, X70, and X80. Whether you need standard structural piling pipes or high-grade pipeline steel for fluid transmission, our engineering team can provide the exact material match.
Q: What surface treatments and anti-corrosion options do you offer?
A: To ensure long-term durability in harsh environments, we provide comprehensive surface treatments. Standard options include Black Painted, Oiled, Hot-Dipped Galvanized, and 3PE (Three-Layer Polyethylene) anti-corrosion coating. For specialized applications, we also offer Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coatings, cement mortar linings, and customized varnish painting to meet specific regional pipeline regulations.
Q: What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) and typical lead time?
A: We support flexible purchasing for both trial orders and large-scale infrastructure projects. Our standard MOQ is typically 10 Tons (though we can accommodate smaller trial orders for specific sizes). For lead times, standard production takes about 15 to 30 days, depending on the total quantity and raw material stock. We will provide a detailed production schedule before signing the contract to ensure your project stays on track.
Q: Can you provide customized end finishes and processing services?
A: Absolutely. We offer various end finishes to suit your installation needs, including Bevel Ends (for welding), Plain Ends, and Threaded/Screwed connections. Additionally, we can provide value-added processing such as welding flanges, pipe bending, drilling, and custom cutting to save your on-site labor costs.
