Pipeline corrosion detection

Pipeline corrosion detection refers to in-pipe detection for the purpose of detecting metal loss such as pipe wall corrosion. The basic method used to understand the damage of the pipeline in service in the working environment and ensure that defects and damage are detected before serious problems occur in the pipeline.

In the past, the traditional method of detecting pipeline damage was excavation inspection or pipeline pressure test. This method is very expensive and generally requires shutdown. At present, the corrosion detectors using magnetic flux leakage technology and ultrasonic technology can be used to detect the size and location of damage such as corrosion pits, stress corrosion cracks, and fatigue cracks.
